However, Godzilla x Kong is a definite success, suggesting that fans can expect more movies in the series. Dropping to third place in its third weekend is Sony's Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, which earned around $9 million at the domestic box office. This latest addition to the popular supernatural-comedy series has already earned $89 million and is expected to surpass the $100 million milestone in the coming weeks. However, it's uncertain if it will reach the $130 million mark, which is approximately the total earnings of its two predecessors, Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Ghostbusters: Answer the Call.
